Journal entries are kept in encrypted storage on your phone. Your account and electronic consent records are separate from the contents of your journal.
App privacy
Your journal.Your boundaries.
Private writing needs clear explanations, not just a lock icon. This page explains how OwnLight’s features handle your choices. The app’s privacy notice and terms provide the full details before you start using it.

A closer look
The app lock is included on Free. Choose a supported phone unlock method or a PIN, and adjust your lock settings. Keep your device and any exported copies protected too.
AI tools send the content needed for the action after consent. Stories share only the collection you choose, where sharing is available. Ordinary journalling does not send your writing to an AI service.
Made for everyday life
Optional features have their own boundaries
Reflect uses one entry; Ask can use several relevant entries; Describe uses words you supply. Entries are not used to train AI models. Encrypted backup and sharing availability will be confirmed in the app; local storage alone is not a backup. Exported files need your own protection.

A few things to know
Is this the website’s privacy notice?
No. This is an explanation of app features. Website privacy covers browsing this site; the app’s own privacy notice explains its processing in full. The Consent record page explains the evidence of agreements and choices.
Does my writing go to advertising?
Your journal content and health or mood data are not sent to advertising, analytics or marketing. Optional AI processing serves the action you choose; it does not turn your entries into training material.
