Consent record

Your choices.A record you can understand.

Transparency means being able to understand your choices. Appsolutely Labs LLC keeps an electronic record of agreements and permissions for OwnLight: what you were told, what you chose and when. OwnLight is in development. This page explains the record; the app’s privacy notice and terms will be available before use.

Agreements and optional choices

Accepting the terms of service, acknowledging a privacy notice and allowing an optional feature are different events. Agreement to the terms is not blanket permission to use your journal for AI or sharing.

What the record contains

The record links your account to the relevant agreement or permission, its version, your decision and a timestamp. It records changes and withdrawals. It does not copy your journal entries, photos, mood values or AI reflections into the consent history.

Why a server record matters

Keeping agreement and permission history with your account helps us apply your choices, explain which permission existed at a particular time and answer questions or lawful requests. It is separate from the encrypted journal on your phone.

A history you can review

OwnLight’s privacy settings include your consent history and controls for optional permissions. You can see decisions you made and change the permissions offered there. A withdrawal becomes part of the history; it does not rewrite an earlier choice.

A record of your choice, not your words.

For example, a record may say you allowed AI reflections or enabled sending mood records. It does not contain the entry the AI read or how you felt that day. A permission’s name can still indicate the type of feature you use, so the consent record itself is treated as personal information.

Your choices

Optional features have their own permissions. You can keep a private journal without using AI or sharing it.

AI reflections

A reflection sends the selected entry’s text, mood and tags for processing after consent. It does not send your whole journal. Permission is separate from the action of choosing an entry and asking for a reflection.

Sharing a Story

Stories start private. You choose the Story and who may view or contribute to it. Permission to use sharing does not make ordinary journal entries or moments visible to other people.

Connected apps and health services

Where supported, choose which record types OwnLight may send or show through connected services. Sending and showing are separate choices. Your phone’s health permissions also apply; allowing one type of record does not give access to your whole journal.

Changing your mind

You can withdraw optional permissions in the app. This stops future use that depends on that permission; it does not undo processing already completed. Copies you exported or gave to someone outside the app may still exist.

What happens when you delete your account?

Deleting your account and withdrawing a permission are different actions. Account deletion removes the account through the app’s deletion process. Limited evidence of agreements or requests may need to remain where necessary and lawful; this does not keep your journal as part of the consent record.

Only what is necessary

This is not a blanket exception to deletion rights. We may retain identifiable evidence only where necessary and lawful for a specific purpose. A consent record can itself be personal or sensitive data: applicable law may require deletion, restriction or redaction of some or all of it.

Agreement history
Limited agreement evidence may be retained to demonstrate acceptance, meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The period depends on the applicable law, relevant claim periods and any ongoing dispute. It is not a universal exemption from deletion.
Your data requests and their outcomes
A request record documents the request, date and response or action taken. It can show that a copy was provided or deletion completed without keeping another copy of the exported journal. Request records have their own purpose and retention requirements.
Permissions that need extra care
Permission descriptions can reveal which kinds of features you use. These details may need deletion, restriction or redaction under applicable law, even when limited evidence of a contractual agreement can be kept.

Start your request in the app

Use the account and privacy controls in OwnLight to review your choices, request a copy or start account deletion. Each action has a different effect.

  1. Request a copy

The in-app copy brings together available account and consent records with journal data held on your device. The copy is prepared on your phone. Exported files are not encrypted, so save them somewhere only you can access.

  2. Delete your account

Review the deletion information and confirm in the app. Deleting your account is different from signing out, uninstalling the app or turning off AI. If you want to keep a copy of your journal, export it first.

  3. Understand the outcome

A data request can cover information held about you, including your consent record. Your rights and response deadlines depend on applicable law. If information must be retained or a request cannot be fulfilled in full, you can ask for the reason.

What is on your phone

We cannot recover device-only entries that have already been erased and are not held in a backup or elsewhere. A server record of permission is not a backup of your journal.

Need help with your request?

If you cannot access the app or need help with a data request, contact us. You do not need to create a new account to ask about retained records. Do not include passwords, journal entries or identity documents in your initial message.

Contact support

Connected data, clear boundaries.

Your OwnLight data and records held independently by another service are not the same thing. A connection does not give OwnLight control of another company’s account.

Copies held by OwnLight

Requests can include personal information OwnLight holds about you, including available imported records. Information only viewed through a connection may need to be requested from its source. We remain responsible for information processed on our behalf by our service providers.

Records kept elsewhere

OwnLight can attempt supported removal of records it wrote through an existing health connection, subject to permissions. That does not erase another service’s account, records created by other apps or copies already held elsewhere. Use Apple Health, Health Connect or the relevant provider’s controls for those records.
